We grade every device by hand in Lima. Here is exactly what each condition looks like, in plain terms, so nothing is a surprise when you open the box.
Every condition, regardless of price

Brand new, sealed in box
Factory sealed, never opened. The full unboxing, untouched.
- What it looks like
- Untouched in the original factory seal, exactly as it left the manufacturer.
- Best for
- Gifts, and anyone who wants the full unboxing with zero history.
Brand new, open box
Box opened, device never used. New in every way that counts.
- What it looks like
- The box has been opened and the device has been checked, but it has not been used. No marks anywhere on it.
- Best for
- Getting a brand-new device while skipping the brand-new price.
Excellent, like new
Looks like it just left the shelf. If there is a mark on it, we could not find it.
- What it looks like
- No wear we can find. We check the screen and frame under direct light, and if there is a mark on it, it does not go in this tier.
- Best for
- Anyone who wants it to feel new and does not want to think about condition at all.
Good
The sweet spot of price and condition. Most look nearly new; any wear is light and easy to live with. Fully tested, works flawlessly.

- Most look nearly new at arm’s length. Any wear is light, the kind you notice only if you go looking for it under bright light.
- Best for
- The best balance of price and condition, and where most people should start.
A Little Ugly
The name is honest: deeper scratches or frame dings are possible. Fully tested and 100% functional, and it is the best price on the shelf.
- What it looks like
- Exactly what the name says: this one has been through some life. Deeper screen scratches or frame dings are possible. Cosmetic only, never cracked glass, and it is fully functional.
- Best for
- Getting the lowest price when the device is going straight into a case anyway.
Refurbished
Professionally restored with premium parts and fully tested. Backed by the same warranty as everything we sell.
- What it looks like
- Professionally restored in our shop with premium parts, then fully tested. Where a part was replaced, it was replaced properly.
- Best for
- Getting a higher-end model for less, with the same warranty as everything else.
A note on colors
Colors move in and out of stock constantly, so we price by model, storage, and carrier rather than by color. If you want a specific color, call us before ordering and we will tell you exactly what is on the shelf.
